Richard F. Boger

Richard F. Boger age 90 a longtime resident of Warren, died August 11, 2012 at Clare Bridge of Utica Senior Living Community. Richard was born February 20, 1922 in Detroit Michigan the son of the late Frank Boger and the late Lillian (nee: Kruczkowski) Boger.Richard was raised in Detroit and graduated from Detroit's Cass Technological High School. He would later go on to serve his country during World War II and was honorably discharged from Fort Sheridan Illinois on February 28, 1946. Following his service to his country Richard went to work at Ford Motor Company working for over 30 years and retiring as a supervisor within the instrument repair area at the Rouge Tool & Die plant.Following his retirement Richard and his wife loved to stay on the move and visit just about any festival happening in the Metro Detroit area. The two loved to Polka dance and visit with their many friends. Richard and his late wife also enjoyed traveling' visiting Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, and the Bahamas. When Richard had his health he also loved to bowl and play softball, where he belonged to several adult men's leagues both in bowling and softball. Quiet time at home was spent with family or sneaking his daily sweet treat. Richard had a true sweet tooth so all candies were fair game.Mr. Boger was the beloved husband of the late Alice, and the dear father of Elaine (Tom) Hall, Leonard (Mary)Boger, Marilyn (Paul) Torzewski. He was the loving grandfather of Michael (Michele) Hall, Matthew Torzewski, Laura Torzewski (Derek Hathcock), Andrew Boger, Kaitlin Boger. Great-grandfather of Nicholas Hall, and soon to be baby boy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 3-9pm with a 6pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile Road). Mr. Boger will lie in state Thursday 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Interment will take place on Friday at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.Please share memories of Richard at his guest book.
