Ray, along with his parents and two sisters (Denise and Karen) grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Ray attended Transfiguration grade school and Osborn high school. After graduation he followed in his father’s footsteps and went to work for Ford Motor Company and did so for 40 years until he retired in 2012. Before he found his career he found the woman he would marry and spend the rest of his days with, Mary Poplawski. Ray and Mary married on September 15th 1978, it was just the two of them for a very short time before having their three children Brian, David and Paige. Throughout their years of being a family of five, Ray was always family oriented and worked extremely hard to provide for his family. All three kids fell in love with playing Hockey, and Ray always made sure they were able to play on teams that would help them grow in the sport. Rays most memorable times were traveling with his family. Trips up to Caseville and down to Myrtle Beach is where they made many fond memories. When not with his family or working, Ray always enjoyed a nice round of golf. He had true passion for the game and was quite talented at it. After retirement he joined the Ford Van Dyke Golf League to keep him active and close with people he had worked with for so many years. While Ray and Mary’s children grew up and expanded their family, Ray always made sure that the entire family took a vacation every few years to make memories that would last forever. Through these more recent years Ray also found a comfort and pleasure in becoming a “Papa”. One of his best buddys was his grandson Brayden whom he spent a lot of time with and went on many adventures. Within the past few years Ray was fortunate enough to find a new “happy place” in his cottage up in Clare Michigan where he could swim in the lake, take golf cart rides and take in the beautiful scenery. Ray was a beloved husband, dad, papa, uncle, and friend to many, and will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband to Mary Lisiecki for 44 years and together for 50. Loving dad of Brian (Heather), David (Aneta), and Paige (long-time boyfriend Jeremy). Cherished Papa of Brayden, Liliana, and Carson. Devoted brother of Denise (Mark), and Karen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
