Mary grew up in Roseville and graduated from Macomb Community College, earning her associate's degree. She began her career at Wayne State University as a secretary in the history department and later joined the State of Michigan, where she dedicated over 30 years of service as a legal secretary.
Mary was known for her independence and determination, qualities that defined her throughout her life. She was passionate about gardening and found solace in tending to her plants. Mary had a love for literature and could often be found immersed in a good book.
Above all, Mary cherished her role as a mother. She was the best mom her children could ask for, known for her fierce love and unwavering support. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she always made sure they knew how much she cared. Mary also had a special bond with her beloved cat, Silas, who brought her comfort and joy over the years.
Mary's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
Mary was the beloved mother of Christina Savage and Loredana Gianino Amstutz (Timothy Amstutz). Adored grandmother of Anthony Savage, Domenic Savage, Carmela Gianino Amstutz, Cole Amstutz, Lillian Amstutz, and two granddaughters on the way- Sofia and Estella Gianino Amstutz. Dear sister of Patricia Burke and William Burke. Cherished aunt of Matthew Burke, Ryan Burke, and Tyler Burke.
A Funeral Service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, July 16th with a visiting time from 10:00am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11:00am at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 23801 Kelly Rd, Eastpointe, MI. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
