Karen Bayes died on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the age of 65. A loving daughter, sister, friend and godmother. Karen cherished the loving relationships she had with her dear parents, extended family and friends.
Karen was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She believed her deep Christian faith was central to her life and a wonderful blessing. During her teen years, she became very active in the church, participating in youth group, singing in the choir and in later years assuming roles of leadership for the youth group and various church committees. During her youth group years, Karen made lifelong friendships that she maintained over decades. Karen’s best friend, Sally, said, “Karen was generous to a fault. Her devotion to her friends and family was unshakable.” Music was always a big part of Karen’s life. She performed in the band and choirs throughout school and her adult years. Karen retired from Comerica Bank after working there for over 45 years. She started her career at the Eastgate branch and moved into various corporate functions. While working, she studied and achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Davenport University. Karen was predeceased by her parents Lois and Clifford Bayes. Karen is survived by her sister Kathy (David) Livelsberger, loving cousins and many friends.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18. Family will greet guests starting at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 24600 Little Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores. The memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
