Heinrich Besler

Born in East Germany to the late Emil and Henrietta Besler, Henry immigrated to the United States just before the building of the Berlin Wall in 1956 and set his roots in Detroit, Michigan. Henry was a lifelong member of the Downriver Germania Club and went on to open a butcher shop with his wife Erika in Southgate, Michigan called “Besler’s Choice Meats” in the early 60’s, which they owned for many years. Both Erika and Henry loved to travel whenever they could, especially to Las Vegas to gamble or Branson, Missouri to watch the country shows, and also took a few trips in Europe and to Hawaii, which Henry held fond memories of.

Beloved Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend too many, Henry will be missed by all who survived him. Beloved husband of the late Erika Besler for 63 years. Cherished father of Robert (Carmen) Besler, Henry Besler Jr., and Gary (Robin) Besler. Loving grandpa of Amber (Dale) Young, Katie (Nathanael) Wolf Besler, and Henry Besler III. Loving Opa of Nikolaus (Shazo) Kowal-Besler, Stephen Kowal-Besler, Jennifer Besler, and Stephanie Besler. Caring great-grandpa of Mackenzie Marken, Ariel Young, Brady Marken, Mallory Marken, and Nora Kowal-Besler. Treasured brother-in-law of the late Karl (the late Erika) Schechinger and Linda (the late Gustave) Friedrich. Cherished uncle of Klaus (Tammy) Friedrich, Karin (John) Darovitz, and Rosy (Eugene) Schneider and dearest cousin of Agnes Dahmann.

Visitation Friday, June 9th from 2pm to 8pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren. Visitation Saturday June 10th from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 12pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren.
