Beloved husband of the late Marie (Vohs), and dear companion of the late Delphine Siekiera. Loving father of the late Harry “Skip” (Rosemary), the late Glenn (Deborah), Michael (Carolyn), and Linda (Ronald) Skonieczny. Cherished grandfather of Lisa (Robert) Simon, Harry (Jennifer) Crane, Nicole (Eric) Hallberg, Brooke (Erick) Acre, the late Glenn “Spike” Crane, Kyane’ Crane, Peter Crane, Andy (Jody) Skonieczny, and Brad (Amanda) Skonieczny. Proud great-grandfather of Stephanie (John) Moors, Harry, Sophie, and Carmella Crane; Jake, Gavin, and Charlee Hallberg; Adeline, Ava, and Glenn “Sparky” Acre; and Avery and Jack Skonieczny. Dear great-great-grandfather of Eleanor Moors. Loving uncle of many devoted nieces and nephews.
Harry was born in Detroit on February 6, 1924 to Llewelyn and Ivora Crane. He grew up with siblings Charles, Joanne, Betty, and Mary. Harry was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving in World War II from 1943 – 1945. Harry married Marie Vohs, his childhood sweetheart, and they were happily married for over 60 years. Harry retired from Chrysler. He was an avid golfer, bowler, boater, hunter, and fisherman. Harry also loved sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. He enjoyed coaching his sons in football and baseball for many years, and was a respected coach in the community of East Detroit. Above all, Harry cherished and enjoyed being with his family.
Due to the Covid pandemic, a Private Family Viewing, with a 6pm Scripture Service, will take place at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
Harry will lie in state on Monday, April 12th from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 Fifteen Mile Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48035. Immediately following Mass, the United States Navy will render military honors in recognition of Harry's valiant service to our country during World War II.
