Clarence Lee Riddle, age 88 of Marquette, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born on July 5, 1935 in Cookeville, Tennessee, the son of the late Henry Joe and the late Dimple Mae (Slagle) Riddle. Clarence was the loving and devoted husband to his best friend of 68 years and 8 months, Iris "Faye" Riddle, and loving father to Debra Barron, the late Wanda "Sue" Knapik (d. 2021) and the late Timothy Riddle (d. 2005).
Clarence spent 13 years working for Federal Mogul, 13 years at Chrysler and 20 years at General Motors at the Tech Center as a Metal Model Maker before retiring. In his spare time you would find him in his workshop in the basement, he was an avid WoodWorker. He enjoyed spending time building beautiful things of all sorts. He also built the deck, shed and finished the basement in his home as well as spent many hours tinkering with many things. Clarence also enjoyed going to and entering Old Car shows with his 1972 Oldsmobile Convertible. He definitely loved cars and you often found him wearing one of his many "Dream Cruise" T-shirts. When he wasn't in his workshop or at the nearest car show he enjoyed camping with friends and family. Many trips to Higgins Lake, along with many other places over the years.
Clarence had quite the sense of humor, he was always trying to think of a way to make you laugh. He enjoyed receiving silly gifts and wearing funny T-shirts. If you didn't catch him in a Dream Cruise T-shirt or funny t-shirt you would catch him in his white V-neck t-shirts with a flannel shirt nearby. He laughed easily and loved big. The love he had for his wife, Iris, was untouchable. He adored her beyond measure, he would often tell the story of how they met and how he won her over with his red convertible. His "Sweetheart" was the center of his universe and the apple of his eye. His undying love for her is truly an inspiration.
Clarence is the beloved husband of Iris Faye (Davenport) Riddle. Loving father to Debra Barron, the late Wanda Sue (Larry) Knapik and the late Timothy Riddle. Cherished Gramps of Emily (Jerome) Powell, Kyle (Mary Jane) Barron, Keith (Kaitlyn) Barron, Klint (Katie) Miller, Robert Buboi and Andrew Knapik. Loving Great-Grandpa of Brooklyn and Lincoln (Powell), Noah, Kinsey, Kaelee, Karter, Kalvin and Kiara (Barron), Ezekiel, Elijah, Olivia, Ava and Jonah (Miller), Jayde and Ethan (Buboi), and James (Knapik).
