Christine Marchione, age 78, was granted her angel wings Monday, November 24, 2014 at her home in Roseville, Michigan. Her final hours were spent surrounded by her loving family who have cared for her throughout her illness.Christine Marchione was born September 29, 1936 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Ben Saylor and the late Lizzy May. Christine was raised in Kentucky and knew from a young age that the country was an oyster with a pearl at the center to explore... and so she did.Christine was born to entertain and, early on, was a gifted vocalist who performed with and was the lead singer of the front show for Jerry Lee Lewis for over three years. Later she formed her own band and performed in many local nightclubs. Christine would eventually go on to own three of her own nightclubs and also continued performing while operating the clubs. Her crowning achievement was a performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.Beyond her prowess for entertaining, Christine had a special gift of kindness and touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. Her family also remembers a woman who was somewhat of a "Shopper Extraordinaire" who never knew the difference between wants and needs...it was just "I want that one."As far as her family was concerned, she always had amazing stories that she would share with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. These stories put smiles on their faces and love in their hearts of which they will now be able to tell their children and grandchildren for years to come.Christine was the beloved wife of Anthony Marchione for over 23 years. Christine will be forever remembered by her devoted brother, Dale Saylor (Linda), and was preceded in death by sisters, Mooretha Clark and Millie Asher. Further survivors include her beloved children Willine Rollins, Suzanne Marchione, Shannon Neely, and Brenda Wellington. Also her treasured granddaughter, Robin Williams and grandson's, Colin McGee and Tim Parris, and great grandchildren Anthony (Cari), Tyler, Aaron and Emily Williams. Christine is also survived by countless other family members and friends whom were blessed to have her in their lives.Visitation for Mrs. Marchione will be held on Friday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile).Memorial donations, in Christine's name, may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.Please share memories of Christine at her memory book.
