Catherine “Cathy” Rose Grieshaber, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
Cathy was a pillar of strength and love within her family. She was always quick to laugh and open to trying new things. For 58 years, she shared her life with her devoted husband, Lou Grieshaber. Cathy was a nurturing and caring mother and grandmother to three sons and three grandchildren:
• James Grieshaber and his wife, Kimberly Singer
• Matthew Grieshaber, his wife, Minh, and children Aiden, Luke, and Reece
• Benjamin Grieshaber and his partner, Stacy Brenner
She is pre-deceased by her brothers Joe, James, and Richard Grant; and sister Cecilia Papandrea. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and sister Mary Mattingly.
Her legacy lives on through her children and their families.
Bunko Club and Lifelong Friendships
Cathy cherished her close-knit group of friends in the Bunko Club. Laughter, camaraderie, and shared memories filled their gatherings. She also loved her lifelong friendship with Gigi Messner who had been her best friend from the age of six, until Gigi’s passing earlier this year.
Community Champion
Cathy’s heart was filled with compassion for others. She dedicated 34 years to delivering Meals on Wheels, ensuring that homebound individuals receive nourishment and companionship. As a member of the Novi Needlers for well over a decade, she lovingly crafted handmade quilts for newborn babies. Additionally, Cathy worked with the 4H Club Therapy Horses, bringing comfort and healing to those in need.
A Passion for Animals
An avid horse lover, Cathy found solace and joy in the presence of these magnificent creatures. Her beloved Tennessee Walker, Blackjack, held a special place in her heart. They explored trails, shared quiet moments, and formed an unbreakable bond. Cathy was also a devoted dog mom to three rescue dogs: Fluffy, Cuddles, and Boomer.
Life Is a Journey
Throughout her life, Cathy called several places home: Detroit, Michigan; Islip, New York; Rockaway, New Jersey; Greece, New York; Novi, Michigan; and Victor, New York.

Cathy’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
Visitation for Cathy will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, located at 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.
Funeral Service for Cathy will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Cathy’s Memory.
