Anne Elizabeth Miller, age 72, a resident of Oak Park and formerly of Warren and Rochester, Michigan, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. Anne was born May 26, 1942 in Aberdeen, Scotland, daughter of the late John MacDonald Findlay and the late Violet Trail Findlay. Anne was raised in Scotland and later came to the United States where she and her former husband settled in Warren, Michigan where they would raise their two children.As a young mother, Anne was an involved parent with her children's upbringing and volunteered her time at their school. She was a meticulous homemaker who cared for both the inside of her home as well as the upkeep of her yard. She took great pride in her small home's appearance and also enjoyed gardening.Anne Miller was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage, all the way to the point of having two Scottish Terrier's named Heather & Mactavish. Her birth homeland was never far from her mind... she loved the Scottish music including the beloved bagpipes. Quiet time at home was spent knitting, reading, and listening to music. Time spent outdoors always included her love of walking. Anne was always most proud of her family and grandchildren and loved the time spent with her grandchildren.Mrs. Miller is the dear mother of David (Linda) Miller, and Jacqueline (Kenneth) Horwath. She is the loving grandmother of Stacey Miller, Alesha Morales, Timothy Miller, Drew Horwath, Cam Horwath, and Mackenzie Horwath. Anne was the cherished sister of Alexander "Sandy" Findlay, and the late John Findlay, and Alistair Findlay. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th from 5-9pm, with an 8pm Prayer Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Officiating the Prayer Service will be Reverend Pastor Dr. G. Patrick Thompson.Memorial donations are appreciated to the American Lung Association. Please share memories of Anne at her memory book.
