Angelina “Angie” Rocca, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 1, 1930, in Huron, Ohio, to James Vincent Fedele and Ann Marie Fedele. She was a cherished daughter among eight siblings.
Angie’s life took a beautiful turn when she met her soulmate, Eugene, through family connections. They married in 1955 and moved to Michigan, where they built a life filled with love and happiness. Angelina was a devoted wife until Eugene's passing in 1981, after which she became the pillar of strength for her family.
Family was everything to Angie. She was their number one supporter, always nurturing and nonjudgmental. Her home was a haven of love, where everyone was welcomed with open arms, regardless of their circumstances. She was incredibly proud of her family and would do absolutely anything and everything for them—she was the epitome of selflessness. Angie would often say that her proudest moments in life were the births of her children, Eugene “Gino,” Ann Marie, the late Philip, and James. Her kindness and warmth made her not only a wonderful mom, but also a genuinely good person.
Angie was known for her remarkable cooking. She turned her passion for the culinary world into a livelihood after her husband’s death, ensuring her family was well cared for. Her meals were renowned, made with love and always served with a side of laughter. Holidays and celebrations were her favorite, where she found joy in feeding her family and creating lasting memories.
A devout Catholic, Angie was a long-time member of St. Dorothy Catholic Church until its closing, after which she found a new home at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families (formerly St. Clement). Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through challenges and triumphs. She knew that no matter what happened, the Lord would always bring her peace and comfort.
In her free time, Angie loved to play cards, especially pinochle. She also enjoyed lively games of bingo. Her laughter and spirit made every gathering special, and her wisdom and generosity touched all who knew her.
Angelina Rocca leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Rocca; dear mother of Eugene “Gino” Rocca, Ann Marie (Dennis) Heidenreich, the late Philip Rocca, and James Rocca; cherished grandmother of Phillip (Devin Scheff) Heidenreich, and Vincent Heidenreich; adored friend of Sue Pappas and Karen (Mike) Brown. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Ann Marie Fedele; her siblings Joseph Fedele, Frank Fedele, Louis Fedele, James Fedele, Andrew Fedele, Mary Severini, Josephine Fedele, and Katherine Iannarino; and many dear in-laws, relatives, and friends.
Angie will be deeply missed by her family and all whose lives she enriched. May she rest in peace, knowing her love will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched.
Angie will lie instate at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families on Saturday, October 5, 2024 beginning at 9:30 am, until the time of Mass at 10:00 am. The church is located at 8075 Ritter Street, Center Line, Michigan 48015.
Following the Funeral Mass, Angie will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her husband, Eugene.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Capuchins Services Center, 6333 Medbury Street, Detroit, Michigan 48211, in Angie’s memory.
