Betty Della Sager went to be with her Lord at the age of 90 on October 14, 2015.
Betty was born January 8, 1925 in Wapato, WA to John and Della Chinn. She attended high school in Wapato and married Robert W. Sager on July 2, 1943. She was an active member in the Ashue Grange holding various positions of leadership including Master. She was also a committed member of the Royal Neighbors. Betty and Bob were self employed most of their married life. Their adventures included running a service station, owning and operating a labor camp in Buena, WA, raising and hauling cattle and wild horses, with Betty assisting Bob in the driving on many occasions, and owning and operating two taverns in Wapato: Jack’s Place and Brown’s.
Betty is survived by Bob Sager and wife Kay (Wapato), Randy Sager and wife Tracy (Lynden), and Bob Sager and wife Linda (Tampico); grandchildren Jason Sager and wife Nancy, Amanda Sloan and husband Dan, Katrina Tronson and husband Ken, Jacob Sager and wife Marisa, Sara Koffler and husband Bill, Hank Sager, and John Sager. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by parents John and Della Chinn, husband Robert (July 23, 2012), and brother Dale.
Betty will be best remembered as a loving and patient soul who cared deeply for her family. She cared for and comforted her ailing mother, mother-in-law and husband. She hosted family gatherings and everyone looked forward to holidays spent at Bob and Betty’s. She was a compassionate grandmother.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM, at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics or the American Cancer Society, in care of Merritt Funeral Home.
