Christopher Martin Johnston

Christopher Martin Johnston, 79 of Clinton, MD, died November 30, 2023, at Washington Hospital Center after fighting an ongoing illness. He was born March 17, 1944, in Washington DC. to his parents Earle and Rebecca Johnston.

Chris was raised in Bladensburg, MD and attended Bladensburg High School. Upon leaving high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving on the USS America (CV-66) in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam era. Chris was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1968 and spent his career working for U.S. government agencies as a facilities space manager for 42 years. He retired in 2004 from Homeland Security.

In 1971 he married Linda, the love of his life of 52 years. They were blessed with two children, Michelle and Christopher. Chris loved his four grandsons, spending time with his family, going to the beach, doing ancestry research, fishing and coin collecting.

He is survived by his wife Linda Johnston, daughter Michelle Lyn and son Christopher Allen (spouse Kerry Michele). He is also survived by his four grandsons, Kyle & Tyler McDaniel, Chase & Seth Johnston and brother Steve Johnston.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earle and Rebecca Johnston, sister Maria (Poogie) Roderick and brother Earle (Skip) Johnston.

A special remembrance for Chris will be held on December 9, 2023 at Huntt Funeral Home located at 3035 Old Washington Rd. Waldorf MD, 20601. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the memorial service following at 12 p.m.
