Marie Warren Howard

September 8, 1922 – October 9, 2010

Marie Howard, 88, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Reggie Blake and Rev. Harley B. Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the funeral home.

Marie was born September 8, 1922 in Nocona, Texas to Charlie and Mittie (Jones) Warren. She was an active member of Beacon Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Her most enjoyable pastimes were being with family and friends, watching sports, and tending to her flowers.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Howard; son, Martin Ray Howard; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Those left behind to cherish Marie’s memory are her daughters, Delores Ochoa and husband, Johnny Sr., of Waco, and Carol Gibson and husband, Neal, of Lorena; son, Don Howard and wife, Linda, of Ennis; brother, R.J. Warren and wife, Betty, of Chilton; sister-in-law, Hattie Mae Motley and husband, Doyle, of Waco; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Danny Howard, Derik Howard, Donnie Howard, Keith Howard, Jerry Loftin and Michael Loftin Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Manda Butler, Heather Gibson, Tammy Hardin, Larry Howard, Sandy Kruger, Teresa Loftin and Rhonda Machac.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Providence Hospice and St. Catherine Center for their love and care and to her church family for their many prayers and support.
