Ernest Orta

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benji officiating. Visitation will be from 6-p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 at the funeral home.

Ernest was born on December 12, 1955 to Freddie and Tommie (Hernandez) Orta in Waco, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Waco. Ernest attended University High School. He married the love of his life, Lilia Garcia in October 5, 1984. They celebrated 38 year together. He worked for PCA as machine operator and maintenance for 35 years. He enjoyed family time and most of all, playing golf.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul Orta and Gilbert Orta.

Survivors in his wife, Lilia Orta, sons, Ernest Orta, Jr., Tony Orta, Eleazar Orta and wife, Raphaela and Freddy Orta and wife, Claudia; grandchildren: Alicia, Miley, Alex, Nayeli, Gavin,

Romeo, Sean, and Amani, three great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Orta, Jr., and wife, Lois, sisters, Yolanda Gongora and husband, Fabian, Anna Maria Orta, Elizabeth H. Orta, Tina Rodriguez, Diana Rodriguez, Buckey Rodriguez, brothers, Gabrial Rodriguez and Danny Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Angel Orta, Sean Orta, Gilbert Orta, Fabian Gongora, Romeo Orta and Enrique Arriaga.
