Tuesday the 18th of May 2021, Adela Lee Stewart of Waco Texas left our lives. Born on the farm, the second child of Stanley and Martha Feyrer of Weimar Tx, on the 16th day of September 1928. Oilfield Roughneck Johnny Eugene Stewart charmed his way into her heart, marrying Adela in 1951. Three children later (Alan, Carol, Gerald), they settled in Waco to welcome a fourth (Susan). Crafting a life together at 925 Nth 22nd, they started Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls in the living room of their home, living the American Dream providing for their children.
Adela protected, nurtured and disciplined the children at the same time she played a critical role in the growth of the company which reached the pinnacle of its industry. She was thoughtful, compassionate, and dedicated to not only to her children, but neighbors and their children also. Hugs and kisses for her children soothed the peach switches and "groundings" in her effort to bring her kids up right. Christian faith, perfect school attendance and a strong work ethic were essential elements in that effort. There were plenty of hugs and kisses for her grandchildren in her role as "Granny", but no peach switches.
Whether it was Christmas treats for the Postal workers at Westview Station or Valentine cakes for the elementary school teachers, Adela had plenty of goodwill and kindness to spread around. Well into her late 80's, it was important to her that she stay in touch with longtime friends and relatives.
Even at the end of her life she thought of others by choosing to not go to the hospital when the opportunity to extend her life was offered. We loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
Adela was preceded in death by sister Marie, her parents, husband Johnny, daughter Carol, granddaughter London, son Alan, brother Joseph. She is survived by her son Gerald (Glenda), their sons Jeremy (Kaytlyn, Lochlan and Jasper in the oven), son Nathan (Stephanie), daughter Susan, her daughter Victoria (Matthew, Adela and Simon), son Alan's children, Rebecca (Jason, Bhealor, Ella), Harrison, Taylor, Lindsey and Shauna, Carol's son Aaron.
