ST. MATTHEWS – Funeral services for Mack H. Vickery, 72, will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Vickery was born in Iva, SC June 11, 1941 and passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:45 a.m. with his loving wife, son, daughter-in- law and twin grandsons. He was a son of the late Mack H. Vickery and Arlene Watkins Vickery. He will no longer suffer pain from the effects of Multiple Myeloma. He served his country in the VietNam War from 1966 to 1968. He ranked Seargent E5 receiving the Bronze Star. He began work at age 16 to help support his parents and siblings. He graduated from high school in 1959. Mack led a long career at Wometco Food Service as General Manager. For the last 10 years he enjoyed a career in auto parts sales, most recently at Pro Auto Parts. He enjoyed classic cars and fast motorcycles. Mack was a self-taught lifelong master mechanic. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many. We all will miss him and will see him again one day in heaven.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Vickery; son, Mack Kenneth Vickery (Jennifer), twin grandsons, Mack Brandon and Kenneth Price Vickery of Clover, SC; brothers and sisters, Vera Green (Peanut) of Greenwood; twin brothers, Don and Dan Vickery of Greenwood, sister, Caroline (Larry) Richardson of Troy, NC; twins, Dale Vickery (Sandra) of Greenwood and Gail Burris of Concord, NC.
