Jack D. Dowd, 91, of Gaston, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Born December 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Harry Dowd and Annie Vera Sightler Dowd.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Annie Davis Dowd; sisters, Eloise Moorer and Dorothy Williamson and brothers, Eddie and Wilbur Dowd. He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Ronald) Greene; son, Wayne (June) Glenn; step daughters, Brenda (Steve) Boone, Betty (Ricky) Williamson, Rose Davis, Patsy (Larry) Boone, Brenda (Melvin) Berry; stepsons, Alvin (Tina) Davis, Denny Davis, Kenny (Sharon) Davis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and sister, Barbara Backman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, 181 Iris Lane, Neeses, SC. Following the service, Mr. Dowd will be buried at The State Full Gospel Church Cemetery, 200 State Pond Road, Gaston, SC. Rev. Donald Bodie and Rev. Wilton Gleaton will officiate. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
