Gregory Dean Martin passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his home after a battle with cancer. Greg was born in Columbia, SC on January 6, 1962. He was the son of the late Ernest L. Martin and Annie Ruth Brazell Martin.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Rainey Ramsey Martin; siblings, Ernest “Rock” Martin (Pearl), Anthony Wayne Martin, Darlene Faye Martin, Timothy Paul Martin and October Dawn Nelson; children, Jason Hanson, Chad Melton, Wendell Brooks and Vickie Brock; grandchildren, Carter, Ashley, Gabrielle and Kale.
Greg was very strong in his faith and always shared the love of Jesus with everyone he met. He had a love for children and enjoyed coaching Upward Soccer. He was an active member and deacon at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Greg was also a faithful member of the Damascus Brothers. He was the founder and owner of Easy Does It Home Improvement. In his free time he loved riding his motorcycle, spending time with family and his dogs, Axel, Tick and PeeWee.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Congaree aptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172 with visitation one hour before the service starting at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greg’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
