Steven was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Harry and Rose Dicken. He graduated from Iowa City West High School Class of 69. He was a Land Surveyor for 34 years. He worked in Arizona for 22 years and 12 years for the City of Visalia as a city surveyor.
Steve was proud to be a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He received several awards such as the District Commanders award for outstanding flotilla and outstanding performance in vessel safety checks. He retired from the Auxiliary after 15 years.
Steve enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, spending time at the Kaweah Lake on his houseboat entertaining his friends and family.
He loved the 49ers, Nascar racing and making his dad’s (Harry) famous fudge chocolate recipe every Christmas, brother Ron approved.
Steve’s favorite place in the world was Morro Bay. Most importantly Steve cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved creating memories, hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles of those he loved. His heart was filled with love and pride when he reflected on his family, memories and the beautiful life he lived.
Steve will be forever remembered by his beautiful lovely wife Jane Dicken of 33 years and children Christina Clegg (Ken) of Star, Idaho.
Michael Garcia (Emily) of Visalia, CA, Carlos Garcia (Emily) of Visalia, CA, Stephanie Dicken of Kansas and Samantha Falcon (Richard) of Visalia, CA. One brother, Ron Dicken (Pat) of Visalia. 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. As well as many nephews and nieces.
Viewing services will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 3:00 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel
Interment will follow at a later date at the Visalia Public Cemetery.
