Rosalinda Andrade Andrade was born on April 15, 1927, to Maria Martinez and Seferino Robles Andrade in Del Rio, Texas. Rosalinda was born a twin. Rosalinda passed on to glory on June 19th, 2024, at the age of 97 years old. Her sister’s name was Rosalva, later Rosalva Andrade Rodriguez. They were known as the cuatas, the twins. Rosalva, her twin sister, passed to glory on, May 31, 2022.
Rosalinda ’s siblings who have passed are Lupe Andrade (Jovita) Esequiel Andrade (Virginia), Rosalba Andrade Rodriguez (Matías), Beatriz Andrade Valdez (Antonio) Carmen Andrade Sanchez (Benito), Jesús Andrade (Lupe), Candelaria Garcia Mendez (José), Maria de Jesús Garcia Ugalde (Sergio), José Garcia (Lupe).
Rosalinda ’s only surviving sister is Blanca Garcia
Rosalinda’s surviving children are Beatrice Villagomez Hernandez (David), Rebecca Soto (Ruben), Rachel Velasquez (Joe, deceased)
Delia Calderon (Larry, deceased), Ralph Grajeda, Manuel Álvarez, Rosalinda Nunez (Chris),
Irma Matta (David, deceased).
Rosalinda is survived by a total of _28 grandchildren and _55_great grandchildren and 15_Great great grandchildren.
Rosalinda moved from Del Rio Texas as a teenager to Salinas CA, Monterey County to live with her aunt Ernestina Andrade who was married to her father’s brother but now separated. Rosalinda, while working as a farmworker in the lettuce fields of Salinas met her husband, Manuel Villagomez, in 1946. They were married and had one child. Manuel had come from Mexico and had taken advantage of the bracero program. When his time came up to return, he left back to Mexico and Rosalinda refused to follow him. She was now alone with one child.
As the years followed, Rosalinda moved to Visalia, Ca, living her life, now with three children. It was 1951 now and her mother, Maria, was now in Visalia, she was a widow now with 5 children, looking for work. Seferino Andrade (Rosalinda’s dad) had passed away in Texas due to a traffic accident, he was 48 years old.
By now, Rosalinda had other children, but it was not until 1964 that Rosalinda married again, his name Arturo Andrade.
Together they would have a child. (Irma Andrade Matta) and Arturo would help Rosalinda raise her children. Arturo eventually died in 4/9/2017.
In 1971, Rosalinda gave her heart to the Lord, becoming a member of Christian Faith Fellowship, Pastor Ernie Cotta became her Pastor. Rosalinda’s sister Rosalba soon began to also attend.
In 1972, Rosalinda was prepared to take on a job as a Preschool Teacher for North Visalia Head Start under the Tulare County Office of Education. She would be the Spanish Role Model in the classroom.
Mother was a wonderful teacher, she loved children, and she loved her job. Teacher Rosa as she was known, even was able to take care of some of her own grandchildren while at the Head Start Center
In 1992, after 20 years of service, Rosalinda retired, putting her faith in God for her financial security. God came through, he would provide for all her needs during all this time until the end.
Rosalinda passed on to glory, surrounded by her loved ones, children and grandchildren. Rosalinda will forever be missed. Her family have many cherished memories of her, that will continue to live in their hearts, and will remember all the advice she gave them. Rosalinda was a reader; her bible was her main source of nourishment that filled her spirit. Rosalinda always knew that Jesus was near, taking care of her and knowing she would stand in his presences after leaving this earth.
Rosalinda’s desire was to have all her family serve the Lord, she was a woman of faith. Her hobbies were collecting books, collecting dolls and she loved sewing. Her job working with children brought her delight and warmth to her heart.
