Rachel was born in Chippewa, Wisconsin on November 27, 1933 to Leroy Melvin and Hazel Fish Troyer. Her family moved to Sepulveda, California when she was 14. On April 15, 1950 Rachel married Ebbert Leroy Sturgeon in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Visalia for 33 years. Rachel was of Christian faith. She enjoyed collecting dolls, crocheting, cooking and baking, sitting in her yard and reading Country Magazine. Her favorite TV programs were Survivor ad Big Brother. Rachel especially enjoyed her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Rachel was preceded in death by two infant sons, Danny and David; two daughters, Judy Blackwell in 2004 and Robin Jenkins in 2013 and by her beloved husband Ebbert in 2014.
She is survived by her son, Randall Sturgeon of Visalia; two daughters, Linda Interrante and husband Ken Geller of Menden, NV and Shannon Radabaugh and husband Justin of Visalia; sister Sharon Ormsbee of Visalia; seven grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Nina, Ian, Jason, Jimmy and Rachel and numerous great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA.
