Joe was born to Seferino and Avelina Garcia on January 26, 1957. He graduated from Redwood High School and would later work and retire from Visalia Unified School District, where he was a Grounds Maintenance Man for Golden West High School.
Joe had a love for sports all his life. He was huge Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan, watching every game he could. He coached his sons little league baseball teams for several years, and was their biggest supporter on the sidelines. When he became a grandfather, he continued to root from the sidelines for all his grandson’s baseball and football games.
Joe loved to sit and listen to music. At all family gatherings, he would be the first to ask for someone to put some music on. Sitting in his chair, tapping his feet and hands to the beat, he’d sing along and try to get his grandkids to join in. He loved to go to concerts where August would play, and you could often find him on the dancefloor with a big smile.
Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pat Garcia, their three children; Jessica (Ozzie), Chris (Amanda), and Matt; seven grandkids; Bryan, JR, Brandon, Jacob, Mason, Jayden, and Kaydence; and one great-grandson, Eli. He is also survived by brothers Paul (Amanda) and Jerry (Lydia), several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Seferino and Avelina; brothers Lonnie, Richard, and Larry, and nephew Lonnie “Chetes”.
