Ethel Rose Travis passed away peacefully on December 31, 2018 at the age of 99. She was a long time resident of Visalia and a very involved member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years. She was married to the love of her life, Gene Travis, for almost 54 years. She loved cooking, entertaining, knitting, camping and taking care of her family.
She always thoroughly enjoyed the company of her family and friends, especially when she could entertain at her home. She and Gene traveled quite frequently, often with their RV, exploring different places.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, her sister, her half-brother and sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Van Pelt (Norm) and Tricia Wafford (John), four grandchildren, Scott Masi, Buddy Ray, Emilee Washington (Daniel) and Andrea White (Neal), 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ethel lived a very full, happy life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. We feel so blessed to have had her in our lives for so long and we are grateful to know she is reunited with Gene and so many family members and friends who have gone before her. You will be missed, mama….until we meet again!
