Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Betty grew up on her family farm in Melrose, New Mexico. She married Lester Reece in 1943. They later made their home in Visalia, CA. In 1954 they adopted their daughter, Donna.
Betty worked at Early California Foods and retired after 45 years. She was a strong Christian and a long-time member of Sierra Baptist Church. She dedicated her retirement years to comforting those that were ill or had a loss in their family. She spent her days at the hospital, care facilities and homes of those in need of some encouraging words and prayer. She was a talented seamstress and made blankets and pillows that she gave out to those in care facilities, family and friends. She was known as the angel in her family and now she is an official angel.
Betty is survived by daughter Donna McGee and son in-law Jim McGee.
A viewing will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 3pm to 7pm. Her service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 9am at Sierra Baptist Church, 1437 E. Walnut Ave, Visalia, CA. Graveside will be at 10:30am followed by a reception at Sierra Baptist Church.
