Alex was born December 1, 1930 in Pecos TX., his family relocated to Visalia California when he was a young child. Alex served our country as Sgt 1st class of the second infantry division of the United States Army where he was awarded the silver star for gallantry, and the Purple Heart among many other honors for his bravery and service. Alex married Concepción (Connie) H. Vasquez In 1953, together they raised four children, Richard Lujan, Lucy Lujan, Abigail Gokey, and Gabe Lujan. Alex and his family attended St. Marys Catholic Church. He relished the annual family camping trips and going to Giants games. He was a man of many talents, well-versed as a vehicle mechanic as well as a proficient handyman. He enjoyed family time, especially with his grand and great grandchildren, and instilled a strong work ethic in them.
Alex was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie of 63 years, and his first granddaughter Jessica Cortez.
He is survived by his four children, Richard, Lucy, Abigail, Son in law, Ron Gokey, and Gabriel. Four grandchildren Steven, Stefanie, Candice, Danee’, and five great grandchildren, Alyza, Isaiah, Isabell, Angeline, and Wyatt. Alex will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A visitation for Alex will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 9:30 am at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court St, Visalia, CA 93291. An interment service will occur Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Visalia Public Cemetery District, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA immediately following the Mass.
