William N. Quinn, Sr.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Paula Meredith Quinn; sons, John Robert Quinn and William N. Quinn, Jr.; and daughter, Patricia Q. Davenport.

He joined the U. S. Navy in 1942 and served for 20 years during WWII in the South Pacific and during the Korean War. Bill served his community as a volunteer for a number of organizations. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts; he was an active member of the Little Creek Lions Club for over 50 years and served in numerous positions, including District Governor of the Lions of District 24D. Bill was also a Life Member of the VFW and Chesapeake Athletic Club. Bill loved to play golf and was a devoted Redskins fan.

Bill is survived by his wife Elinora “Gerri” Quinn; daughters, Valerie Quinn Kallam and husband Steve of Va. Beach, and Rebecca Quinn Bolton and husband Bobby; step-children, John Phillips, Suzy Phillips, and Debbie East of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
