Virginia Lee Mittelsdorf

Virginia Lee Mittelsdorf, 88, passed peacefully on February 26, 2018. Mrs. Mittelsdorf was born in Mattoon, IL and resided in the Tidewater area since 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marjorie Diehl, her husband Virgil Lee Mittelsdorf and a daughter Vivian Lee Forehand, 3 brothers William Diehl, Jim Diehl and George Diehl and 1 sister Charlene Crague. Mrs. Mittelsdorf retired from the Virginia State Health Department as an accountant after 30 years of service. She was an active member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church and was loved by all who knew her. Survivors include two daughters Victoria Lee Torrey and Vera Lee Meekins; son-in-law Don Forehand; 5 grandchildren Amber Lauren Forehand-Hughes (Donald), Jennifer Meekins (Todd Egan), Jonathan Lee Meekins, Justin Meekins (Rachel) and Richard Torrey, Jr.(Julie); 6 great grandchildren Genevieve Egan, Amelia Meekins, Lauryn Torrey, Lyndsey Torrey, Annlea Torrey and Marc-Andre Torrey; 4 sisters and 2 brothers Frank and Dan Diehl 4 sisters Margaret Stevens, Edna Rattray, Christine Higgins and Betty Fite. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 3, 11:00a.m. at Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church by The Rev. Daniel Mackey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
