He attended Elementary and High school in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School, Ronald joined the United States Navy, where his career spanned over twenty years. When he retired from the United States Navy, Ronald Wesley embarked on a second career working closely with the United States Navy. In 2010 Ronald retired from the Military Sealift Command in Washington, DC.
Ronald is preceded in death by his father, Charles Wesley, and his mother, Nona Wesley. His legacy will live on in his four sons, Anthony Wesley of Santa Monica, California; Sefton Wesley of Honolulu, Hawaii; Robert Wesley of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ronald C. Wesley, II (Carol) of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Keishi- Ron Wesley and Sydney Harkleroad- Bell (James), one great-granddaughter Zoey Bell. He is also survived: by his siblings, Cerelle Wesley (Terri), Camille E. Williams (Bill), Wendall Wesley, and Duane Wesley (Richard).
Ronald was kind and loving, always there for family and friends. He leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and a long list of friends that spanned from California to New York. Ronald leaves to cherish his memory very dear friends, Cheyenne M. Wesley, Pam Crawford, Dwayne Woodard, Catherine Brown, Rega Reid, Harold Robinson, and Clarence Cornelius.
Visitation is Monday, June 12th from 5-7 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is Tuesday, June 13th at 10:00 am at Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans cemetery at 5310 Milners Rd. in Suffolk, VA. You are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 am for the Graveside Service.
