Ronald Keith Brown, 61, of Virginia Beach, passed away into God’s loving care on March 7th at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA after complications from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was a builder of hundreds of projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region, president of Brown Building Corporation for 31 years, and one of the founders of Kids Town Learning Center. He was born on October 26, 1953 in Norfolk, VA. He was an inspiration to this family and his many, many friends who have expressed shock and grief to his untimely passing. Ronnie was a very caring and loving person who thought of others welfare above his own. His huge smile and loving demeanor will be missed by all. He was recently predeceased by his father and mentor, Joseph C. Brown Sr. and was also predeceased by his brother Richard “REB” Brown. He is survived by his mother Anne, his loving wife Jacquelina, his brother Joe Jr. and wife Martha, his brother David and wife Rosemary, and their children Lauren, David, and Nicholas, his stepdaughter Liesa, his stepson Tanner, his grandchildren Michael, Briannah, and Geneva, his cousin Mary Lou and husband Danny, and their sons Trey and Wade, his cousin Margie and husband Ron, and their daughter Kadie, his cousins Billy and Margaret, his aunt Angie, and his most dear friend, Ron Hundley and his wife Kim, and their daughters, June and Julie.
Ronnie, like his father, was past president and member of the board of directors of the Associated General Contractors of America, and a member of the Norfolk Builders and Contractors Exchange. He was a member of the Mogul Ski Club where he met many friends and enjoyed group ski trips. He was a lifelong member of Thalia Methodist Church and also attended Spring Branch Community Church. Ronnie was a caretaker of his parents and family. His love for others in his large circle of friends was immense and the void left behind cannot be filled. As a co-owner of a large preschool day care, he loved being around children of all ages that ran up to him and called him Mr. Ronnie.
He surrounded himself with people that were hard working, patriotic, and good Americans. He also enjoyed reading books about Great Americans and had a love for jazz music.
