Robert "Bob" Lee Legg

Robert (Bob) Lee Legg of Virginia Beach, age 93, went to be with his Lord on May 7, 2023. Born on May 9, 1929, in Nicholas County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Burton E. Legg and Vida Mae Legg. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Peggy Sue Legg; an infant daughter; two brothers, Kenneth Legg and Ernest Legg; and one sister, Wilma Johnson.

Bob is survived by two sons; Robert Allen Legg and wife Flora, and Michael Wayne Legg and wife Karen; six grandchildren, Ryan Legg (Magan), Kristy Phillips (Josh), Matthew Legg (Teri), Ruthann Tolley (Jared), Bobbie Jean Legg (Omar), and Timothy Legg (Arianna); and 15 great-grandchildren.

Bob retired as a regional manager from the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company after a 30-year career. A devoted, loved and honored husband, father and grandfather, who always put his family ahead of himself, his life was a visible example of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” After a long and blessed life, he has now entered into his ultimate blessing, eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home Chapel, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don E. Karnes officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at Rosewood Memorial Park.
