Richard "Rich" Adrian Phillips

Richard Adrian Phillips, 71, passed away on Thursday evening, May 10, 2018 in Virginia Beach. Richard was born in Salisbury, NC to the late John and Edna Phillips. Rich served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill earning his doctorate in Economics. He later worked at Pennsylvania State University and at Old Dominion University; he retired from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Phillips; children, Zack, Jeff and Krista Phillips; siblings, Carol, Patricia, Debby, Susie and David. Rich loved spending time with his family and walking on the beach, reading and watching the Washington Redskins play. The family will notify personal friends and family at a later date for A Celebration of Richard’s Life.
