Peggy Marie Sechrist

Peggy Marie Sechrist, 87, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023. She was born in Clinton, NC to the late Frederick and Catherine Worthington. For many years, Peggy worked for C&P Telephone Company and later she was a bus driver for Chesapeake City Schools. In between and after her jobs, Peggy was a homemaker; taking good care of her family and home. She was a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Peggy loved the Lord, family and her friends; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 29 years, William "Bill" C. Sechrist; son William Teddy Sechrist; brother Gene Worthington; sister, Louise Dennis; and 2 nephews, Glenn Dennis and Jimmy Worthington. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Penny Lincoln (Don) of Currituck, NC and Sheila Burr (George) of Dunn, NC; 4 grandchildren, William Patrick Burr, Adelina Sizemore, Tyler Normand, and Spencer Normand; 3 great grandchildren, Carter Sizemore, Sophia Sizemore, and Madison Burr; and 3 nephews, Mike Dennis, Greg Dennis and Michael Worthington. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm.
