Nancy Reed Dupree

Virginia Beach - Nancy Reed Dupree, 80, passed away while in the loving arms of her family on Oct. 29, 2014. She was born on Dec. 23, 1933 to the late Denton and Willa Reed. “Fancy Nancy”, as she was affectionately known, was actively involved in many organizations: United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists, Jamestown Society, Sons & Daughters of the Pilgrims; Daughters of 1812; and the Colonial Dames XVII Century. She worked as a school psychologist and was the first to retire from the VB Public Schools. Nancy loved genealogy, gardening, the Red Hats Society, and collecting. One of her favorite past times was boating with her husband Wayne on their boat “Nansea.”
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Wayne L. Dupree; brother, Henry Dupree and his wife Cindy; sister, Rosemary Davis; sons, Bill R. Green and Michael V. Green; step-son,Timothy L. Dupree; step-daughter, Denise Corpus and her husband Ray; granddaughters, Raeanna Corpus, Marina Miller, and Crystal Horner; and great-granddaughter Nevaeh Horner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-son, Wayne Michael Dupree.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sat. Nov. 8, 2014 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. You may offer condolences to the family at www.kellumfuenralhome.com.
