Ms. Nadine (Nay) Wanda Wilson was called to her final resting place on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA. She was born on September 11, 1952 in Portsmouth Virginia, to the late Nathaniel & Ophelia Wilson. Nadine was educated in the Norfolk VA public school system and graduated from Norfolk State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She relocated to Los Angeles, CA in the late 1970s, where she worked in various careers, including as a juvenile case worker protecting children from abusive homes for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services until she retired. After retirement, Nadine later went through specialized training and became a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
Nadine was a member of the First AME Church of Los Angeles Liturgical Dance Ministry, enjoyed performing in local community theater, and was very health and fitness conscious. Nadine loved Alcoholics Anonymous and helping people to achieve sobriety, and was always willing to help her friends in need. She was also passionate about writing and enjoyed music.
She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Leon & Doris Wilson of Virginia Beach, VA. She is survived by her brother Michael Wilson (Judy) of Sterling VA, God-brother Cornelius Brown of Los Angeles CA, niece Gail Wilson-Turner (Sterling) of Virginia Beach, VA, nephew Scott Wilson (Keisha) of Chesapeake VA, niece Lindsey Brimage (Jamall) of Chicago IL, niece DeAna LaValle (Michael) of Leesburg VA, and a host of great nieces and nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021, in Rosewood Memorial Park.
