Obituary of Michael Jermain Giovanni Lancaster Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved, Michael Giovanni Lancaster. He was born on March 1, 1999 in Virginia Beach, VA. Michael Giovanni Lancaster was a true embodiment of purity and innocence. The beloved son of Mike and Teresa, Giovanni brought immense joy and love into the lives of his family and friends. Throughout his childhood, Giovanni found much happiness in playing baseball, embarking on fishing adventures, and spending blissful days at the beach. An imaginative and creative soul, he could often be seen crafting YouTube dances and video game tutorials. His faith was an integral part of his life, as he was baptized at Freedom Fellowship and carried the love of God with him wherever he went. Beyond his time at school, Michael adored going on vacations with his family, engaging in video game adventures, and conquering mountains on his longboard. Remarkably, by the age of 18, he had already established his own business, owned a car, and cherished the companionship of his loving pug, Sparticus. With honors, Michael graduated from Kempsville High School and made the honorable decision to serve his country by joining the United States Army. For three years, he dedicated himself to the army, stationed in Korea, where he emerged as a true patriot and developed a passion for political discourse and serving the helpless. Tragically, on December 30, 2023, Giovanni’s unexpected passing left his loved ones in deep sorrow. He was preceded in death by his cherished cousin, Joshua Hagerman and Uncle, Tyrone Lancaster. Left to mourn his loss are his grieving mother, Teresa Hagerman, and his father, Mike Lancaster. His doting siblings, Christopher, Anthony, Mathias, and Elaina Lancaster. Moreover, he leaves behind his nephew, Toree, and five nieces, Amaya, Nova, Soleil, Mia, and Zendaya Lancaster. His grandparents Joseph & Christina Hagerman, Irvin & Debra Lancaster. His uncles Joseph Hagerman III & Eugene Lancaster. Aunts Rita Hagerman & Danyale Lancaster. Michael Giovanni Lancaster will always be remembered for his pure heart, innocent nature, and unwavering love for his family and God. Though his time with us was cut short, his impact and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace. A visitation for Michael will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A Celebration of life service will occur Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A graveside service will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
