Mary Elizabeth Smith

Virginia Beach- Mary Elizabeth Smith, 77, passed away May 29, 2010. She was born to the late Carl and Eula Epperson in Chattanooga, TN on Feb. 7, 1933. Mary was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and an auxiliary member of DAV Chapter 20. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Mary was a woman of courage. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Larry W. Smith; sons, Kenneth Russell and wife Gladys of IN, Larry K. Smith and wife Kelly of Va Bch, Gary Smith and wife Irene of Norway (USAF), and Terry Smith and wife Shannon of Chesapeake; daughter, Lynn Schunk of WA; sister, Iva Beck and husband Keith of TX; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Sentara Bayside Hospital, especially Dr. Neil Patel and Dr. Koki, for all the love and care they provided Mary through her illness. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
