Kyla Phoenix Guanzon, 7, passed away on May 4, 2013. She was born on July 26, 2005. She was a high-spirited, wild child who would always put a smile on your face. Her favorite color was purple and she could never get enough vanilla ice cream. Kyla loved turtles, elephants, and owls. She took her treasured Fishy Kumot everywhere. Kyla was always in the middle of a mess and never had a clean shirt. She loved Sponge Bob, TMNT, Powere Rangers, and Animal Jam.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Chris and Theidus Guanzon; sister, Alyza Guanzon; paternal great-grandmother, Soledad “Nanay” Elgar; paternal grandparents, Ruben and Mercia Guanzon; maternal grandparents, James and Billie Bowdoin; uncle Ruben and Auntie Cristina Guanzon and their children, Emma, Rina, and Braeton; Aunt Shantell and Uncle Karl Pinto and their children Samantha, Haleigh, and Kyle; and many family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A celebration of Kyla’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the funeral home with burial to at Rosewood Memorial Park. You may pay condolences to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com. In honor of Kyla, the family request that everyone wears purple to her services.
