Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy McLeod and Carol Ann Higginbotham.
She is survived by her husband William T. Smith; two sons, David Bond and Steven Bond, his wife Kyle; and three granddaughters, Claire, Sarah, and Eleanor Bond; two stepchildren from a previous marriage, Frank Mann and Aimee Mann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jean resided in Richmond VA from the 1960’s through the early 1980’s. She spent the remainder of her life in Virginia Beach. She enjoyed attending baseball games with her husband Bill, ocean cruises, watching Dancing with the Stars and The Voice, spending time with family, being a grandmother, and going to the beach at Chincoteague, VA.
A memorial service will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2 pm; reception to follow in funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or the Norfolk Alzheimer’s Association.
