Our beautiful mother, Erma L. Wilson, 80, started her journey home February 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Blessed be our merciful Lord. She was born on January 27, 1935, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to the late Benjamin and Rosa Lee Wells. Also preceding her are siblings Benjamin Wells Jr., Bernard (Windy) Wells and Geraldine Harris, son-in-law, James Turner and great grandson, Nathan Holt. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Russell T. Wilson; sons, Russell Jr., Bubba (Jerri), Ray (Betsy), Ronnie, Ricky, Randy, Rodney and partner, Steve; daughter, Brenda Turner, nine grandchildren, Tammy L. Wilson, Shannon M. Murphy (Brian), William R. Wilson, Jamie L. Weinschenk (Bobby), James T. Holt, III (Shauna), Jeffrey A. Holt (Erica), Jessie R. Turner (Heidi), Devyn N. Becker and Hannah E. Wilson; six great grandchildren, Brooklyn N. Holt, Jonah N. Holt, Mary E. Holt, Ryan A. Holt, Jeffery T. (Nook) Akers and Shelby K. Ore; sisters, Kathryn Recine, Shirley Reyonlds and a host of family and friends. Mom had many passions in life, crafts, cooking, plants, music and decorating her own home but all paled in comparison to children. Either her own or others; didn’t matter, she loved them all. Her passion for living and ability to listen was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation will be from 6-8pm on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at the Chapel of Serenity Mausoleum. Online condolences maybe offered at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
