Ella Mae Inge

Ella Mae Inge, age 96, passed away on September 18, 2021 at her home in Virginia Beach VA. Ella was born in Dinwiddie VA to Katie and Frank Milton and had 5 siblings. Her beloved husband of 50 years, Jesse B. Inge, passed away in 1996. Ella is the sole survivor of her generation within her family. She outlived all her siblings as well as her many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. She is survived by her two daughters and a son: Jeanette Smit, Sherry Casas, and Jerry Inge, all of Virginia Beach. She also leaves behind three grandsons and a great granddaughter; Ryan Stark of Jacksonville FL, Matthew Casas, his wife Lindsay and daughter Addison of League City TX, and Jason Inge of Virginia Beach VA. In her late teens, Ella was a volunteer Nurses Aide, then went on to work in various administrative and bookkeeping position before having children. Once a mother, she found her biggest passion in life was caring for her family and her favorite role was homemaker. Later in life, Ella returned to volunteer work at Leigh Memorial in the Breast Cancer Unit, pulling from her personal battle with breast cancer to help others. Ella was an active member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ for over 50 years. While her health prevented her from actively attending church in the last decade of her life, her faith in God sustained her. There will be a Celebration of Life for Ella on October 1, 2021 at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior at Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach Va. The family invites all guests to join them in the reception room at Kellum following the graveside service.
