Donald Lawrence Bradley

Donald L. Bradley passed away Sunday surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Don was 81 years old at the time of his death. Don was born in Annawan, IL to the parents of Lawrence Bradley and Marguerite Billiet on November 2, 1933. Don's father died in an auto accident shortly after his birth, and was raised by his stepfather , Herbert Vandersnick. Don loved to play basketball early in his life. He watched basketball and his favorite team the Chicago White Sox. Don served in the US Air Force. He had two sisters-Mary Johnson and Barbara Haverback. He retired from Illinois Power Company in the gas dept after 30 years. After retiring they moved from Kewanee, IL to Virgina Beach, VA for 18 years. He married Betty Lou Welch on April 8, 1967. They had 47 years together. Don's family includes three children: son- Stephen (Kathie) Bradley—Bloomington, IL, daughter—Nancy Bradley—Virginia Beach, VA, son—Kevin Bradley—Ringold, GA. Don's grandchildren include: Kerry (Jeffrey) Uchtorff, Daniel (Lexie) Bradley, Timothy J. Bradley, Jeremie Bradley (and family), Heather Bradley Weller (and family). Great grandchildren include: Alex Uchtorff and Kate Uchtorff.

Don was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Step-father, one sister- Mary Johnson.

The family is having a memorial service on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, VA.
