Daniel F. Kenney, USN Retired

Daniel F. Kenney, USN Retired, passed away at age 85 on January 25, 2023. He was born on August 21, 1937 to the late Frank and Ruth Kenney in Mechanicsville, New York. He lived in Virginia Beach VA for his final 53 years. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kenney and Ruth Kenney (Goss), and his brother, Douglas Kenney. He was a loving husband and father, and a friend to many fortunate enough to know him. He enthusiastically dedicated his time and talents in support of active and retired Navy personnel as a proud US Navy veteran. He was an active board member of the Fleet Reserve Association Kempsville Branch 99 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Kenney; son, Keith Kenney and his wife Cheryl Kenney; daughter, Brenda Price (Kenney) and her husband Hunter Price; and stepdaughter, Melissa Singleton. Dan’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Rachel Erin Price, Shannon Price, Jeffrey Conley, Steven Weston, Joseph Weston, Jr. and his wife Alexis, Katie Tischler and her husband Ben and five great-grandchildren, Joseph III, Emma, Luna, Lilly and Sage. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM with a visitation 2 hours prior at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A burial will occur at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
