Charles Clayton Lastinger Sr.

Charles Clayton Lastinger, Sr, 83, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018. A native of Norfolk, he was born August 6, 1934 to the late Sol and Ansie Lastinger. Charles was a skilled craftsman, a Community Emergency Response Team Volunteer, and a Master Gardener with over 10,000 hours of volunteer service. He retired from Portsmouth Public Schools and was a member of Geneva Park Church of Christ.

Left to cherish his memory is two children, Chuck Lastinger, Jr. (Debra) of Suffolk and Terri Meagher (James) of Yorktown; the mother of their children Jean Lastinger; 3 grandchildren, Lisa, Chris, and Tiffany; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christy Lastinger and his sister Mary Lee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Geneva Park Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Geneva Park Church of Christ, 2509 Gilmerton Road, Chesapeake VA 23323, the American Red Cross, or a charity of one's choice.
