Carlos was a good friend of mine and a wonderful person. I am just hearing the news of his passing but wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to the family. He was a fantastic artist and a caring person. We had so many laughs over the years and he will truly be missed.

I met Carlos in a business networking group about 3 years ago.  As I got to know him I discovered what a kind, intelligent, and  talented man Carlos was. I always had great admiration for him and his artistic ability. We met for a one to one business meeting a few weeks after he joined our group. We probably talked for about an hour and a half  at that first meeting (we got a little off track!) It was then that I realized what an introspective and caring person Carlos was, not to mention extremely bright. I will never forget that first meeting and I really enjoyed having him in our group. When he had to quit the group due to health reasons, we all missed seeing him every week, but we understood why he couldn’t continue any longer. To his parents, you raised a wonderful man. You should be so proud of the man he was. My condolences to all of his family, I’m so sorry  for your loss.

So I have only known Carlos for about 3 years through my Business Network International (BNI) group, but after meeting this gentleman, it felt like friends forever. His artistic talent was incredible, and the painting he did for me for my wife of 30 years was just exciting.  My wife has been going to Ocracoke Island for over 50 years with her family, many memories and now we have a beautiful painting to capture this Island, hanging in our home from Carlos. A gentleman with a beautiful disposition, truly sorry for your loss, but now he serves as an Angel!!

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet Carlos a few years ago. He is such a kind and caring individual with unbelievable artistic talents. He took great pride in serving our country in the military and was a very passionate artist. You will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the Burgess family.
