Betty Shepherd

Mrs. Shepherd was born in Selmer, TN to the late Byron and Mary Smith and was preceded in death by her husband John Shepherd and a son-in-law Albert Whitley. She retired from Sears after twenty-five years of service. She was a former member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church. Betty was married for 65 years to John, they shared a full life of traveling to Tennessee and New Orleans to see family, Las Vegas, Biloxi, and Atlantic City to Gamble and of course her all time favorite thing was playing bingo! She was a great mother, friend and wife. Betty loved her family and spending time with them, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and antiquing. She and John had many adventures riding motorcycles and boating.

Survivors two daughters, Terry Brown and her husband David and Tonya Whitley; five grandchildren Zack Brown (Christie), Megan Hardey (Ryan), Courtney Thomas, Lindsey Brown and Brittany Welzant (Adam); five great grandchildren Skylar Hardey, Kamdyn Thomas, Jasper Hardey, August Brown and Ellis Brown; four sisters Jerry Fatherree, Ruby Rein, Irene Dwyer and Pat Anderson and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m..
