Audrey Elizabeth McClain

Audrey Elizabeth McClain, age 96, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. Audrey was born May 7, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late Albert Ernest Simpson, Sr. and Mary Catherine Williams Simpson. She worked for the US Government in Washington, DC retiring after 38 years working in personnel. Audrey loved sitting on the back porch enjoying nature. Even at 95 years old, she actively used technology and the computer, keeping up with family and friends on Facebook and playing games.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Wayne Allen McClain, Sr., and his fiancé Patricia P. Hill; step-daughter, Sammie Bailey; grandchildren, Lorie McClain Gordon and her husband James, Wayne Allen McClain Jr. and his wife Stephanie, and Jackie Lee Bailey; great-grandchildren, James Gordon Jr., William Allen Gordon, Devon McClain, Bonnie McClain, and William Bailey; and many beloved nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Polk McClain; brother, Albert Ernest Simpson, Jr.; and sister, Catherine McGinnis.
