Cecile Marie Simon, 87, of Vinton, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Cecile was born in Sulphur on December 9, 1936 to Joseph "Lee" and Laura Vincent. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, making Mayhaw jelly, and spending time with family.
Cecile is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Laura Vincent; son, James Doucet; sister, Mary Vincent; brothers, Edward and Paul Vincent; and grandson, Joe "Te" Bonsall.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 51 years, Harry Lee Simon; children, Libby Havens of Vinton, Martie Doucet Myers of Westlake, and Sue Doucet of Sulphur; 5 stepchildren; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, from 5 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm and will resume on Wednesday at 9 am until time of service.
