Robert "Skip" Humbarger of Hesperia, California, passed away on May 23, 2019. He was born in Maine on July 4, 1950. After completion of high school, was in the Navy for four years. He was married to Christina on May 26, 1979.
Skip worked at the United States Post Office for many years as a manger, mechanic/engineer and for Engineered Air Systems as the operations manager.
Skip had a passion for camping, fishing, coaching sports to Skippy, Michael and Leeann as well as attending his grandchildrens games and activities. He loved the New England Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. He always had an open door for anyone who needed a place, always had sarcastic joke/comment and a never ending story to tell. He loved his candy, coffee, and his Fox news (and a good political argument).
He is survived by his wife, Christina Humbarger, his son, Robert "Skippy" Humbarger, Jr., and his step-children, Leeann Shimer and Michael Shimer, as well as his grandchildren, Cory Knight, Colin Knight, Yolanda Shimer and Matthew Shimer and his great-granddaughter, Alayna.
He is also survived by his mother, Margery Towne, brother, Don Humbarger, sister and brother in law, June and Charles Deblois, sisters, Diana Chamberlain and Carolyn Humbarger, his aunt and uncle, Ellie and John McKirnan and Aunty Cal and his many nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 p.m., June 8, 2019, at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Road, Vicgtorville, CA 92392.
