Hilda was the first born of five children on September 29, 1925 in Waldron Michigan to parents Francis and Naomi Lyon.
She is survived by daughters Janette and Jaclyn, son James, her 4 younger siblings, beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by husbands Donald Simons, (father to her children), George Steere,
William Wristen and daughter Joanne Penseyres.
After graduating high school, Hilda moved to Chicago to pursue an education in missionary work at the Moody Bible Institute. She was later married and moved to Southern California where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher and a very active member of Pomona First Baptist Church. After moving to the high desert over 20 years ago she became a member of the Church of the Valley, attended services and holiday gatherings there regularly.
She had a love of adventure and enjoyed traveling, gold mining, deep sea fishing, bird watching and listening to Gospel hymns.
She never passed an opportunity to help someone in need.
Hilda's services will be held at Desert View Funeral Home in Victorville. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Moody Bible Institute in her name.
